Icon Drawing Workshop: October 30 – November 3, 2017

Join us for this intensive workshop focused on developing of the drawing skills of iconographer. Completing this course will enable you to paint the icons you wish to create with confidence and ease.
Using the ideal models of the Angels and the prototypes specific to iconography, you will learn how to accurately draw the features of the Archangel Gabriel.

The basic principles of proportion, construction of the human head and face as well as the transition from light to dark will be addressed in this intensive workshop.

At the conclusion of the class students will achieve the knowledge and the skill (practical ability) to draw with self-assurance and comfort any type of facial features they may choose to undertake.

Each class will start at 10am – end at 3pm (1/2 hr. lunch break)

1. Drawing board 16″ \12″ or 18″ \24″
2. Drawing paper (white and tinted)
3. Soft Vine Charcoal
4. White soft pastel
5. White conte crayon
6. Charcoal pencil
7. Kneaded eraser and/or Designer eraser
8. Blending stumps
9. Compass, Ruler
10. Two or three round sable brushes (fine tip/size 1-2)
11. Portable (or clamp on) lamp
12. Masking tape or paper clamps
